Knife and multitool coverage remains part of the field-gear archive, but backpacks and carry systems are the editorial priority.
How guides and reviews are produced
Research-led guides distinguish sourced specifications from our analysis, include limitations, and link to primary or authoritative references. When dimensions or capacity matter, we show the measurements and assumptions used.
Hands-on reviews disclose whether a pack is owned or borrowed, the test duration and carried weight, measured dimensions, materials, fit, hardware behavior, and observed advantages or failures. We do not publish ranked “best” lists until enough comparable packs have completed the same protocol.
Dates, corrections, and future products
Publication dates reflect first publication. A visible updated date is added only after a material revision. Recon Carry products are planned, but current editorial conclusions are not product claims or disguised sales copy.
Corrections are made directly and materially revised pages receive a new updated date. Every article identifies its author and, where applicable, the testing method.
